Pizza Hut specials, coupons and deals to save you money

Everyone loves pizza — especially when you can top it with lots of savings. At Pizza Hut, deals, coupons and specials can get you one of their popular pies for less. The restaurant is the perfect stop for frugal families looking for a quick and easy meal.

Founded in 1958 in Wichita, Kansas, Pizza Hut is one of the world’s largest pizza chains. The star of the Pizza Hut menu is its pan and specialty pizzas, with multiple crust options and flavors. Fun fact: Pizza Hut was one of the first American pizzerias to offer a Meat Lover’s Pizza.

The restaurant is also known for slicing the price on its pizzas. In fact, they’re one of the first major chains to engage in pricing wars with their popular $10 large pizza special. In addition, Pizza Hut regularly offers discounts for all budgets – everything from single pizza specials to family meal bundles.

It’s not cheesy to say that bargain hunters should never pay full price for their pizza. Instead, they should look for Pizza Hut coupons and limited-time specials to save money on weeknight or weekend pizza dinners.

How to save money with Pizza Hut coupons and specials

Frugal pizza lovers have several ways to get a deal at Pizza Hut. Find out how you can save with Pizza Hut specials, coupons, loyalty points and the chain’s app.

Limited-time Pizza Hut specials

One of the best and easiest way to save money at Pizza Hut is through its limited-time specials. Some of the specials have been on the menu for years, while others are available for a few months. The key is to check for what’s available before ordering. There is always some sort of special on the menu every day. Here are some of the most popular Pizza Hut specials:

Dinner Box: Given pizza is usually a family affair, the best savings can be found with Pizza Hut’s Dinner Box deals – a meal bundle with a variety of menu items at a discounted price. In many cases, you can pick and choose what you want included in the meal deal, so you can create the perfect frugal feast.

The $11.99 Dinner Box comes with a pizza, breadsticks and cinnamon sticks. For an additional cost, you can upgrade the box with more toppings or cheese sticks.

However, the most popular is the Pizza Hut Big Dinner Box – starting at $21.99. What comes in the dinner box? The feast includes multiple pizzas, pasta and/or wings. It’s more than enough food to feed the whole family with some left over for a midnight snack. The box is loaded with big value because you save money over ordering the items individually.

$5 Value Menu: With Pizza Hut’s $5 ‘N Up special, the more you buy, the more you save. Choose two or more items from a select menu and get them at a discounted price – everything from breadsticks to desserts, as well as beverages.

The price starts at $5 per menu item, with premium items costing a little more. The line-up changes periodically with the addition of limited-time menu items.

And, thanks to the special, the savings really add up with some items at more than 50% off. The deal is the best option if you’re hosting an inexpensive pizza party. You could easily enjoy multiple pizzas, breadsticks, desserts and beverages for under $50.

Daily Deals: Pizza Hut offers everyday deals. The most popular deal is the Tastemaker special — a large pizza with up to three toppings for $10. Pan pizza, stuffed crust and/or extra cheese incur an additional cost.

In addition, the chain also offers a large Original Stuffed Crust pizza with up to three toppings for $11.99.

These daily deals change periodically, but usually offer a significant discount on a large pizza. The $10 special comes and goes on the menu in various forms.

FREE Pizza: The chain has on rare occasions offered FREE Pizza Hut pizzas. However, freebies are not common, so the best way to slice into a complimentary pie is through the chain’s loyalty program, Hut Rewards (see below).

One ongoing free pizza deal is the Pizza Hut BOOK IT! program. Young bookworms can read their way to a FREE personal pan pizza. Since 1984, the Pizza Hut BOOK IT! Program has been dedicated to encouraging reading in schools nationwide.

The literacy program empowers teachers and parents to motivate students to read by providing Reading Award Certificates, good for a FREE, one-topping Personal Pan Pizza. The program is open to schools and parents homeschooling their own children.

National Pizza Day: You can’t serve pizza without celebrating the three most important food holidays of the year – National Pie Day (January 23), National Pizza Day (February 9) and National Pi Day (March 14). On occasion, Pizza Hut celebrates the days with various specials or discounts. On those days, check the chain’s social media accounts for any potential deals. However, because Pizza Hut always offers discounts, you can celebrate every day with savings — holiday or not.

Pizza Hut coupons and coupon codes

Pizza Hut regularly offers print coupons in weekly newspaper or mail inserts. They usually include the ongoing deals you can get online, as well as a few unique offers. You can find savings on pizza bundles and percentage-off deals. Because pizza ordering is mostly done online, the print Pizza Hut coupons include a four-digit coupon code to be used at checkout.

However, the best place to find Pizza Hut coupons is directly on its website. There is no coupon code necessary because the offers are automatically applied at checkout.

Pizza Hut Points

Pizza Hut launched its first-ever loyalty program, Hut Rewards, in 2017. Members earn points toward FREE pizza, have access to exclusive deals and enjoy a birthday reward.

Hut Rewards members earn two points for every $1 spent for dine-in, carryout and delivery orders. It doesn’t matter how you order (online, on the phone or in-restaurant), you always earn points. Just be sure you’re logged into your account or give your phone number at checkout. Occasionally, members can earn bonus points through special promotions or offers.

Redeem points for a variety of menu items, including breadsticks (75 points), eight-count boneless wings (125 points) and a medium, two-topping pizza (200 points.) You must earn 300 points to get a free pizza, the top reward in Pizza Hut’s program.

Plus, members earn a FREE birthday treat at Pizza Hut. The reward varies, but it’s usually for a complimentary side (breadsticks, cinnamon sticks, etc.) with a minimum purchase. The offer is automatically loaded to the member’s account.

To ensure your account is properly credited, always log into your account before ordering. (If you’re ordering over the phone or at the restaurant, access your account by sharing your account phone number.) However, if there’s an issue with your points or Pizza Hut Rewards aren’t working, call 1-844-244-2552 for assistance. Points expire after six months of inactivity.

Pizza Hut app

Of course, the quickest and easiest way to order pizza is directly from Pizza Hut’s app. The app is tied to the chain’s Hut Rewards, so, by signing in, you’re earning points for every order. Plus, you can also redeem any earned rewards. However, you can also use the Pizza Hut app separately from the loyalty program by signing in as a guest.

In addition, you can also access all of Pizza Hut’s online deals from the app. With just a few swipes and clicks, you can have a pizza at your doorstep within an hour or so.

Pizza Hut menu and prices

Pizza Hut prices are comparable to prices at other national pizza chains. However, you should never pay full price, thanks to all of the readily available Pizza Hut discounts and specials. Even if you call in your pizza order, be sure to ask the employee about the current discounts available. Prices vary by market.

Beyond the big savings, the chain is known for its extensive menu, including pizza (of course), pasta, side dishes and dessert. Much to the dismay of many pizza lovers, Pizza Hut does not serve breakfast, despite pizza being a favorite morning meal. Therefore, most locations open for an early lunch, usually around 10 a.m., and stay open until 11 p.m. or later. Pizza Hut hours vary by location.

The signature items on the Pizza Hut menu include:

Pan Pizza: The chain’s signature thick, buttery crust is one of the reasons its pizzas are so popular. You can also get the crust in a variety of flavors, including Hut Favorite, Garlic Buttery Blend and Toasted Parmesan. The ultra-thick, chewy and flavorful crust adds a little more pizzazz to the pizza.

Stuffed Crust: Pizza Hut popularized the stuffed crust pizza back in the ’90s. The crust is stuffed with warm, melty cheese, and each bite is filled with gooey goodness. You can add stuffed crust to most pizzas on the menu for an additional cost.

Meat Lover’s Pizza: One of the most popular signature pizzas on the Pizza Hut menu is the Meat Lover’s Pizza. It’s full of meaty toppings and will definitely fill you up with just a slice or two. The pie features more than a pound of cheese and meat, including pepperoni, Italian sausage, bacon, ham, beef and pork.

Personal Pan Pizza: Pizza Hut made the term “personal pan pizza” popular for good reason. It’s the perfect size for those dining alone or in need of a quick lunch. It’s also the right size for families with distinctly different tastes because each person can order their own pizza and enjoy it all to themselves. Every pizza on the Pizza Hut menu can be ordered as a personal pan pizza. Each mini-pizza consists of four small slices. The regular price is around $5.

Pizza Hut buffets: Once very popular, Pizza Hut’s buffets are harder to find. If you’re fortunate to be near a full-size Pizza Hut location, they may offer the chain’s famous pizza buffet. The buffets are usually all-you-can-eat with pizza, pasta, salads and dessert at a discounted price during specific lunch hours.

How to order Pizza Hut online

The easiest and fastest way to order pizza from Pizza Hut is online. You can order Pizza Hut through its app or website for pick-up or delivery. You can also order Pizza Hut over the phone. Just call your most convenient location directly.

Pick-up is the most economical choice because there are no additional fees, unless you decide to tip. For Pizza Hut delivery, there is a minimum purchase requirement (usually around $20) and additional fees. The delivery fee is not a gratuity for the driver, so expect to tack on a few more dollars for a tip. Having pizza delivered may cost you an additional $10 or so with fees and tip.

Unless it’s for total convenience, many bargain hunters avoid delivery because of the additional costs. Many would prefer to use that additional money toward more food.

Pizza Hut is expected to soon offer customers one more way to conveniently order pizza from their phone – by text. Simply text a few keywords and you’ll be enjoying a hot, fresh pizza soon thereafter. The new ordering method should be available sometime in 2021.
