Starting with iOS 13.5 iPhone users are able to configure their smartphone to automatically share their Medical ID during an Emergency Call. This new feature has been noticed alongside the 4th beta version of the upcoming software update. As soon as you open the Health app, for the first time after upgrading, you’re prompted by a new splash screen. It gives you the option to review your Medical ID and you’re informed that you can now allow your iPhone or Apple Watch to share your Medical data with first responders.

Apple tries to help health authorities by prompting users to make sure that their Medical ID info is accurate. The option to share your data during an emergency call can greatly speed up the process of the medical assistance that you require. More, you can also choose to make your Medical ID available on the iPhone Lock Screen. That should be useful if you’re unconscious when the first responders reach you.
